We just returned from a 5-night stay at Sunset Lodge and it was one of the most special places we've ever stayed. The hosts, Josue and his family, were fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The view from our balcony was amazing, with hours spent in our hammocks watching the colorful wildlife.
Strongly recommend this hotel.

The view from our room was very nice and worth the climb up from the road. The room itself was cozy and spacious, with an outdoor shower that had a private and fine view of the ocean. The food at the nearby Restaurante Casa el Tortugo was like a gourmet meal and reasonably priced.

The room was cozy with a fine ocean view and a private outdoor shower. The location was perfect, just a minute's walk to the beach and a short walk to town.
The breakfast could be improved with more variety.

The location was fine, with amazing views of the rainforest and ocean. The cabin had all the necessary amenities, including a hot shower, comfortable bed, fridge, and coffee machine. The owner was kind and helpful, organizing tours and transportation for us. The highlight was sitting on the covered balcony, watching the tropical birds and even being greeted by scarlet macaws right outside our cabin. The staff were really nice too make our stay nice.
Didn't dislike anything about the hotel.

We had an amazing stay at a lodge in Drake Bay with fine views and really good service. The cabin we stayed in had a balcony that offered amazing views of the surroundings. We loved waking up to the sound of the ocean and the birds. The lodge also had a fantastic restaurant that served delicious food at affordable prices. The value for money was unbeatable. Our host, Raquel, were great too make our stay nice. She helped us book a unique tour that turned out to be an extraordinary experience. Despite a few minor inconveniences, like the climb to the lodge and some bugs in the open-air bathroom, the overall experience was fantastic. We highly recommend this lodge for an lovely stay in Costa Rica.

My stay at Sunset Lodge was absolutely amazing. The wooden cabins were so gorgeous and cozy, providing a unique and charming experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the warm and welcoming family who run the lodge. They were always ready to assist with any questions or arrangements, making me feel right at home. The breakfast provided was truly outstanding, and my lodge was spotlessly clean. Additionally, the lodge's restaurant, Casa el Tortugo, offered some of the best cuisine in Drake Bay. I highly recommend Sunset Lodge for its beautiful cabins, friendly service, and delicious food.

We got great value for our money at Sunset Lodge, with beautiful and private cabins, stunning views, and a cozy and comfortable room. The location was ideal, just a short walk to the beach and a fantastic restaurant nearby. But what really stood out was the staff, who were incredibly friendly, helpful, and went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
The hotel breakfast menu could use some improvement.

I gotta say, I got a fantastic value for my money at this place! The room was comfy, the view of the bay was fine, and the wildlife right outside my patio was a sight to behold. The location was peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, and the staff treated me like family.
The breakfast offerings could use a little improvement, maybe a bit more variety would be nice.

We had a fabulous experience staying in this rustic lodge in a remote location. The wooden cabins had tidy rooms with unique decorations, like hand-crafted driftwood pieces. The open-air bathrooms were clean and the cabins had mini fridges and fans. The view from the decks was breathtaking, offering a beautiful view of the bay and surrounding greenery.
The lodge had issues with noise from music and karaoke until 2 am, which was disruptive for guests who needed to wake up early for activities.

I had a wonderful stay at a charming lodge in Drake Bay. I was warmly greeted by the friendly owner who gave me a helpful introduction to the area. The bungalow I stayed in had a amazing view of the coast and was beautifully designed with lovely wooden details. The comfortable bed ensured a good night's sleep, and the fresh and delicious breakfast, included in the price, was a great way to start each day. The restaurant owned by the family served amazing food, especially the Red Snapper for two. The value for money was excellent, and the private pool and fine views were definite highlights. The host, Josue, were very good too help me book tours and make the most of my stay. The sight of humpback whales and dolphins on a private whale watching tour arranged by the lodge was lovely. I highly recommend this hidden gem in Drake Bay for nature lovers and those looking for a relaxing and enjoyable getaway.
